I’m busted up. I was all kinds of into this girl, and she just flat-out dumped me, telling me that I was broke, and then ran right into the arms of this rich asshole. I can’t even figure out which of them I’m more pissed at: her or him. How do I move on?

Dear Can’t Let Go,

You’re right. You can’t let go. And let me tell you, you dodged a bullet on this one. Even if you got a bunch of money, there would always be some problem there with you and her. Be happy she’s gone.

But that doesn’t help with the hurt right now, does it, CLG? Just try to channel that hurt into something productive. Do some volunteer work in your community. Take a pottery class. Or maybe yoga. Or try putting that hurt into a fun, funny perfect pop song, one that comes along once every three or four years, one that everyone loves immediately. And maybe you’ll make a little money at it, and really show your ex-girl and her new boy what’s what.

Nah. Go with the pottery.
